After attending a sort of open house jewelry sale on Saturday, I decided that I want a big ol' mother of a cocktail ring to wear to any holiday soirees. The kind that will sparkle your eyes out. I saw one that was a peridot-colored almond shaped stone with these two orbits of clear stones around it. It looked like a Judy Jetson ring, a ring of The Future. I wanted it real bad, but they didn't have my size with them. I need a sparkly chunk of something to wave around at parties, even if it's just colored glass.

Spent today with my dad, and we had all sorts of fun boppin' around. We took a little rainy day drive through Middletown and Smyrna, navagating back roads peppered with festively adorned trailer homes. Around 2PM, we stopped for Mexican food. I had the most incredible steak and portabello fajitas. At home again, we watched Blades of Glory and played a bunch of Wii games. I ate about a million red grapes the size of small plums and then came home.

I would REALLY like to not have to go to work tomorrow. I am even considering trying one of the tactics that are supposed to bring snow, according to a superstitious teacher at my school. She swears that if enough people sleep with their PJ's inside out and with a spoon under their pillow, we'll be able to summon some precipitation. Some snow would be AWESOME, except that secretaries have to take a day of vacation for a snow day and teachers don't.

Things I'm looking forward to this week:

- going out for sushi with my dad
- making cookies with my mom
- attending a holiday secretaries' gathering
- PAYDAY

And I'm looking forward to your next dose of tes'rone. But poor thing, you always feel so sweaty and over-heated the first day. You should always spend the first day naked. Ooh.

OMG- how can they make you take a vacation day when they are CLOSED???? That's not even fathomable! You should go on strike! Ooooo, I hope you find your Judy Jetson ring- sounds lovely!

It's because we DO have the option of coming in, unless a state of emergency has been declared for all of Delaware. It's different for teachers, because they are under contract to teach 180 days, and when there is a snow day, another day is just tacked on at the end of the year. Still, I think it's silly.
