besubversive: (cooking)
I'm making Mahi Mahi with Cilantro Chutney tonight.

The chutney is cilantro, a kiwi, unsweetened coconut milk, garlic, and a little jalepeno. I doubt I'll be able to find a ripe kiwi at the grocery store. So I'm wondering if maybe I could substitute something like a little pineapple or mango? Any foodies care to weigh in?

The recipe called it a chutney, I call it a sauce, but names aside... you NEED to try this:

1/3 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 cup pineapple chunks
small handful of fresh cilantro
one clove of garlic
one jalepeno, seeded

It is awesome because you don't have to cook anything. Just puree it. I ate it on the mahi mahi (GREAT) and was sort of looking around trying to find other things on which to eat it. When the Yum Frenzy died down, I decided to just save it for the leftover fish tomorrow.

Also, did you know pineapple tastes good with cumin sprinkled on it?
