This morning I took a shower using my new shower gel from Bath and Body Works. Now, on a scale of skin sensitivities, with 1 being "Non-filtered Water Makes Me Break Out" and 10 being "I Bathe With Sulfuric Acid," I'm about an 8. I don't have any food allergies and not much irritates my skin. So, showered with my new gel, nothin' special in it except a new scent, Rich Citrus Cream. The stuff smells fabulous, like butter and oranges, but as soon as I got out of the bathroom, my arms and legs began itching like CRAZY. I slathered on cocoa butter, thinking it was dry skin. My skin still drove me nuts, so I started scratching all spastic like. I sat on my bed and tried to zen away my itching, thinking that perhaps it was psychosomatic. That didn't work. I was twitching everytime the itch got bad enough to give me muscular tics.
In the end, nothing helped. I ran a wet washcloth over my limbs and still they itched. I itched from about 6:30 am until my mom dropped me off at work around 7:45 am. I'll be damned if I EVER use that stuff again. I thought I would lose my mind. Whew. I'm still having mild afteritches every hour or so. But maybe another shower tonite will take care of that. Here's hopin'...

Date: 2004-06-14 03:25 pm (UTC)I have some super-citrusy shower gel that irritates my skin, but it works wonderfully as a shampoo. I just bought a huuuuge bottle of it for that purpose, in fact.
