Thank goodness and praise Higher Power X, I'm leaving my dad's house and returning to my mom's for the next two weeks. Although I must admit, after the initial familial tiffs, things cheered up a bit around here. I'm packing everything in and loading up the car. Tonite we do dinner and a movie with my mom in belated celebration of my brother's birthday.
I read the first three books of Steven King's Dark Tower series when I was 13, and then re-read them at something like 17. Two days ago, we were out and about with Dad and he scored a copy of Wizard and Glass, the 4th book, for my brother and I to share. We're taking turns reading it. Or rather, we're waiting until the other is not looking and then stealing it out from under their nose. Last night I dozed off while reading it and when I woke up a few hours later, it was gone from my lap. Apparently JD couldn't sleep and wandered through this room on his way upstairs, spied the book and noted my closed eyes and deep breathing, and gleefully swiped it and hoarded it back to his room. This morning when I couldn't find it, I guessed at the crime and sneakily retrieved it. Mwahaha. Cat and mouse, indeed.
Alright. On the road again, babies.
Kisses!
