The job deal

besubversiveSo, I had my interview, which was not so much an interview, on Monday. I dressed up all purdy and went in to talk to my boss-to-be, Kim. Instead of asking me questions about what makes me a strong or weak team member, she gave me a tour of the building and described what she was looking for in an aide. The building, Wallace Wallin, is half occupied by classrooms for the mentally challenged children in the school district and the other half of the building is a teacher resource center, a computer lab, and classrooms that the district lends out to different programs and seminars. For instance, over the summer, when teachers go to sessions that train them to be better teachers, that typically happens in these spaces.
My job would essentially be comprised of two things. One, I would be given lists of things that different clients needed in order to best utilize their spaces. For instance, if one group wanted a slide projector, an easel, and a microphone, I would go in and set it up in the morning and then put it all away again when they finished. The second half of my job would be in the teacher resource center.. there's a large library of teaching materials and book groups that need to be entered into a new database. I'd be working on that, and also supervising the use of the materials and laminators (sp?)and die-cutters and copy machines in the center.
I'm 99% positive that the job is mine, and I'm just waiting to hear from either my boss-to-be, Kim, or her boss, Dr. Poole. I'll be making $10 an hour, 37.5 hours a week, 8am-4pm, M-F. Perfect.
Also, I got in touch with Lane Bryant and I'm going to be working one day every other weekend, starting this Sunday. The fab thing about that is this: There's a Sophie's Closet this weekend... 55% discount for employees, and I get to take advantage of it. !!!
