i'm a winner
Apr. 6th, 2009 04:30 pmI won a $50 gift card at Trader Joe's. I remembered to bring my reusable grocery bags on Wednesday, filled out a raffle ticket (maybe my 20th or so?), and my name was drawn this morning. What a pleasant surprise to start my week! Nothing like winning something I would have bought anyway, as opposed to something on which I probably wouldn't have bothered to spend money. Seriously, I would rather win groceries than, like, a new stereo or something.
My Sunday was lovely, from the weather to an early and fabulous phone call with my best friend to afternoon activities with D, which included a several-mile walk in and around Brandywine Park, the eating of ice cream (twice!), and a short visit to the Brandywine Zoo.
The zoo trip did nothing to waive my dreams of having my own small menagerie someday. An alpaca, a miniature goat or two, and maybe a little pig.
This week, I will be seeing two bands. One that I don't know (Cherryholmes), and one that I know and love (Whispertown2000).
Oh, and today is my six month anniversary of working at Brandywine Hundred Library. I feel so glad to be doing something I love. Doing it really well, even. When plenty in life is uncertain, it's a relief to at least feel that you've chosen the correct career path.
