Goddamnit.
Dec. 3rd, 2008 04:30 pmI was in a car accident on the way to work today. BOO. I was second in the line of four cars who banged together, and everyone felt it was the fault of the guy in the first car except that guy, who blamed it on me. (It wasn't me.) The policeman who showed up decided to diplomatically (and jackassedly) issue all four drivers a ticket, instead of trying to figure out who caused the collision.
The damage:
- My front right wheel rim is bent and that gave me a flat.
- My front left headlight is askew and the area around it is kind of pushed in.
- My back bumper is scraped and sagging.
- I have a $69 ticket, and have to show up to court with the non-expired version of my car insurance card. Oops.
- I had to stand in the whipping cold wind for two hours, with bare legs even.
- I have to rely on rides from people and probably a borrowed car until I get mine back.
- If I decide to contest the ticket, it will be a big headache. I haven't decided yet.
All I can say is thank goodness I finished my Christmas shopping already. You know, because of the money thing. And the not being able to get around for a while thing.
