(no subject)

Oh lord. Another Big Exam in History of European Civilization, the dryest class that ever was. Guess I'm gonna be studying ALL DAY.

But on the upside, when it's over I'm going to be watching the Daily Show with two of my favorite girls. And we'll be knitting, eating Seriously Sharp Cheddar and crackers, and drinking some cheap dessert wine.

(AND, I'm 2/3 through my second wristwarmer. As it turns out, I'm knitting it a bit tighter than the first one, but I'm betting it'll stretch out some after putting it on a bunch.)

This is kind of true, although I'm not in a bad mood all that often.

Half of the exam I'm about to take is an essay in which I compare the morals and values in Machiavelli's "The Prince" and St. Augustine's "Confessions."

(Whenever I say that second one, I hear Usher in my head. "These are my confessions... just when I thought I said all I can say...")

Dear self,

Remember this: Princely Agenda vs. Christian Morality. Egotism vs. humility. Truth vs. lies and manipulation, greed and materialism vs. abandonment of material attachments.
