Feb. 18th, 2005 09:27 amI realized last night that my belief in Soulmates, however fleeting, is totally over. It has gone the way of my belief in Fate, Destiny, and Things Happening For a Reason. There's a whole bunch of people that one can find love with, and some are going to be worth holding onto and some won't. I just can't put any stock in that Meant To Be Together hooey. I think it's for people in long term relationships to subscribe to, because if something supernatural brought them together then maybe they feel a little more secure about the future of the partnership. The only thing I believe in is oppurtunity.
So, on a less cynical note, it's about 75% likely that I'm going to be going to an AMAZING drag show tonight in NYC. Murray Hill, a bunch of drag troupes, the fantastic pervster musicians Lesbians on Ecstacy, and the infamous Megan "Sassypants" Beene. (Yeah, I just made that nickname up. Hee. I feel like she deserves such a title.) How I'm getting there is still in the works, but it's rather possible I'm going to be braving public transportation alone. ::shudder:: Eep, I say.
I'm listening to my little sis' radio show at WMUH. She just played "Where Have All The Rude Boys Gone" - Ted Leo, 'cuz I requested it. Yum, so good. She's such a fab deejay.
Today is for calling financial aid, calling the damage appraiser, cleaning this crazy room, working out, catching up with my dad, and crossing my fingers that my travel plans will go as smooth as possible tonight.
Okay, I'm going to go play with Missy at the radio station. And I can take her the Valentine I made her! Woo.
