I got an outrageously good haircut this evening.
(Everytime I talk to Jaime I get all flustered and don't know what to say because she's such an amazing girl. If things had just never gotten so ridiculous... who knows what sort of friends we might be. Freshman year = surreal. I feel ancient even trying to remember back that far, and when I do, I laugh at the thought of who has changed, and how. There are also people who haven't changed one bit.)
Anyway, sweetheart and arteest that Jaime is, she trimmed my bangs and gave my hair quite a clipping. And free of charge. She wouldn't even let me sweep up my own hair, and she picked it up with her Bare Hands to put it in the trash. *I* can barely touch hair I've disowned.
My hair is about 2 inches shorter than it's ever been in probably two years. I adore it. I think I've found my Perfect Hair. I keep making people touch it because all the split ends and dead stuff is gone. Only shiny, silky, shampoo-commercial hair left.
***
My tummy is full of sourdough baguette slices, lemon artichoke pesto, milk and cookies. We had a bit of a Wegman's quest and subsequent nosh. We being the 2nd floor Moore gals and visitors.
Does the smell of sourdough bread make anyone else crazy? I'm nuts for that scent.
Tomorrow I'm headed home to Delaware. What awaits me? Family, the drama that comes along with family, Thanksgiving dinner at Dad's house with the usuals and my lesbian step-grandmother (she plays pool... her license plate says Rack 'Em), 6am crazytime Black Friday shopping with my mom, wings + card games + boozin' on Saturday with Drew, and plenty of time to knit, relax, and plan final papers.

I ordered 7 books on half.com today. All but one are for my Senior Seminar english class next semester, a.k.a. Writing the End of the World. Here's the reading list:
Oryx and Crake - Margaret Atwood
Cat's Cradle - Kurt Vonnegut
1984 - George Orwell (one of the other english majors in my class has NEVER read 1984)
The Namesake - Jhumpa Lipiri (I butchered that. I can't remember the exact spelling.)
Underworld - Don Delillo
Beloved - Toni Morrison
I could just cream over this list. Seriously.
